A suitably spiked Bacon Sarnie makes for a fitting al fresco Sunday Brunch combo

Spring has truly sprung and it's time to grab one's trowel and venture into the garden.

And whether you're re-landscaping your country pile or simply sowing seeds in your window box, it's prudent to undertake such green-fingered activities on a full stomach and preferably somewhat sober.

But not wanting to wholly abstain on a Sunday, we've spiked this delectable double-decker bacon, braised leek and grilled cheese sandwich with a spade-full of piquant Broken Clock infused Bloody Mary chutney.

To create this canny condiment, finely shop 1 kg of tomatoes, 2 red peppers, 3 sticks of celery, 3 brown onions and two red chillies and add to a pan with 300 ml of sherry vinegar and 300 g of brown sugar. Add a few generous dashes of Worcestershire Sauce and a spoon of horseradish sauce, stir and simmer on a very low heat for around two hours.

Remove from the heat and stir in a double shot of Broken Clock Vodka before allowing to cool. Finally, add to sterilised jam jars and store in a cool place.
