Timeless tipples, Tunnock’s tea cakes and terrific tomfoolery.

Sean Cavanagh from Hey Palu brought a flavour of Edinburgh to the Stables Bar this week for a special bar takeover, sponsored by Broken Clock Vodka.

As part of our London Cocktail Week celebrations at the Milestone Hotel, this high-spirited evening saw Sean Cavanagh and the Stables Bar’s own maestro Angelo Lo Greco, presenting a menu of cross-border cocktails combining our awfully English vodka with some quintessential Scottish tangs.

The formidable Frying Scotsman was one part espresso martini and another part ramos fizz, lengthened with Barr Cream Soda and served with a mini deep fried Mars Bar for good measure.

And who could resist a Bruppino a somewhat sophisticated tipple combing Broken Clock, elderflower and rhubarb with a homemade Iron Bru sorbet, topped with sparkling wine.

Blue Palu brought a taste of the Scottish tropics to the proceedings with pineapple-butter-fat-washed vodka, tangy cranberry and blue curaçao.

And to top things off, Timeless was an orchard twist on the classic vodka martini taking our lingering vodka, dry vermouth and spiking it with a dash of fermented apple.
